Here’s how your conference calls REALLY play out

I have long argued for the importance of physical proximity in the workplace. From my experience getting in the same room as your colleagues and stakeholders offers certain benefits that even the most advanced communications technology could never replicate.

This is not a popular opinion. I am constantly attacked on it- either by clients wondering whether a conference call can substitute for a face-to-face meeting, or by this week’s new viral opinion piece arguing for a fully decentralized workplace.

Well, instead of responding to each of these arguments individually with a lengthy retort, from now on I will simply point my position’s detractors to the following hilarious video:
