Top IT leaders chosen for data governance achievements
The latest issue of Information Management named its top 25 managers. It’s an impressive list of IT executives. But what really caught my attention when I reviewed this list was the fact that nearly all of the executives chosen were credited with a significant achievement in data governance.
Now I suppose that shouldn’t be such a shock since this is a list published by Information Management. But in the past the list was dominated by cool data warehousing and analytics projects. It’s not that they were totally absent but there was a clear bias toward the importance of data governance and the benefits it is bringing.
Food for thought as you plan your strategic emphasis going forward. Perhaps the day of the CIO, i.e., the chief INFORMATION officer, is still ahead of us.
